Glenville, W.Va. -The Golden Eagles split with Glenville State on the road, winning game one 4-3 and dropping game two 5-4.

The Basics:

How it Happened:
The Pioneers got the lead in the bottom of the first, plating one run on a double. The lead did not last long though as the Golden Eagles responded with a Hannah Meyer two-run shot to take the score 2-1. The Pioneers then took the score right back after plating two runs in the bottom of the inning, both runs unearned as they reached or advanced on an UC error.

In the top of the fourth inning the Golden Eagles tied the game up at 3-3 on a Glenville error to plate Kyra Gooler. The go ahead run then scored as Lindsey Phares advanced home on a wild pitch to give Charleston the 4-3 lead.

Neither team plated a run for the next several innings, Charleston going on to win it and Addison Mass collecting her third victory in the circle for Charleston for the week.

How it Happened:
Charleston scored the first run of the ballgame in the top of the first on an RBI walk for Kayla Moran. The next several innings were a pitchers duel, until the bottom of the sixth inning when Glenville plated a run on two hits to tie the game. Charleston responded well in the top of the seventh with a Kaleigh Serra double to right center field to plate two runs. The Pioneers then answered with a two-run homerun to tie the game back at 3-3 and send it to extra innings.

As the game headed to the eighth inning, Charleston once again took the lead with a Hannah Meyer triple scoring Kyra Gooler who reached earlier on an error. Despite the deficit, the Pioneers once again responded with the first two batters reaching base with singles before UC recorded the first out on a fly out to center. The next batter to the plate for Glenville then doubled to Center field to plate the tying run 4-4. With runners on second and third and one out, Charleston's Chloe Elliot threw a wild pitch which allowed Glenville to score and take the victory 5-4.
