Charleston, W.Va. – Charleston swept the Saturday series from Point Park before ending the weekend with a split to Salem University.
GAME 1
The Basics:

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Allison Rubal hit a solo home run to left field. Charleston then added one run in the third after Hannah Meyer grounded out bringing in a run on the play.
The Point Park Pioneers scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Gianna Welsh following a 7-pitch at-bat.
Charleston countered and scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Hannah Meyer.
Addison Mass earned the win for Golden Eagles, the starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Jaylyn Mullenax took the loss for Point Park Pioneers. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one.
Meyer drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Golden Eagles with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Bianca Polistina, Rubal, and Meyer each collected two hits for Charleston.
GAME 2
The Basics:

How it Happened:
Hannah Meyer hit two home runs and drove in four as the Golden Eagles defeated the Point Park Pioneers 6-1 on Saturday in game two.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Meyer homered to center field, scoring three runs. UC then added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Meyer homered to center field, and Brittny Ogg doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Point Park scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Melanie Taylor.
Chloe Elliott earned the win for Golden Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Savannah Lee took the loss for Point Park. The hurler went three innings, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking none.
Lindsey Phares, Kaleigh Serra, Hannah Meyer, and Ella Zucchero each collected two hits for the Golden Eagles.
GAME 3
The Basics:

Score: UC 5, SU 4 (14 innings)
Records: UC 24-11 (15-7 MEC) Salem 20-18
How it Happened:
It came down to the wire on Sunday at the Watt Powell Annex, as the Golden Eagles grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 5-4, over Salem tigers. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the fourteenth when Franchesca Alvaro induced Kyra Gooler to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Addison Mass struck out 14 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed five hits and three runs over 14 innings while walking three.
A single by Lindsey Phares put Charleston on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Jazmyn Moetului doubled to center field, which helped Salem tie the game at two in the top of the sixth.
The Tigers took the lead in the top of the ninth. Moetului hit a solo home run to left field, to give Salem the edge, 3-2. Then in response, Taylor Hodson singled to center field, which helped the Golden Eagles tie the game at three in the bottom of the ninth.
A fielder's choice by Karmen Hogan gave Salem the lead, 4-3, in the top of the twelfth.Then once again the Golden Eagles responded as Kaleigh Serra hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at four in the bottom of the twelfth.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles got on the board in the first inning after Hannah Meyer grounded out, scoring one run.The lead did not hold long as Salem captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third after Abigail Harki singled to the left side of the infield, and Kendall Lemley grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
Lemley earned the win for Salem tigers. The pitcher allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Chloe Elliott took the loss for Golden Eagles. The starter went four and one-third innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking one.
Allison Rubal went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Taylor Hodson led Golden Eagles with two hits in three at bats.
Up Next:
Charleston will head to West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday for a doubleheader with the Bobcats. The Golden Eagles will then face Davis & Elkins on Saturday on the road.
