The University of Charleston football team started its 2025 campaign in commanding fashion, defeating Livingstone College 39-10 on Thursday night at UC Stadium. Quarterback
Ean Hamric led the Golden Eagles' offense, completing 20 of 27 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver
Yves Bosmans was his top target, hauling in six catches for 163 yards and three scores.
Zachariah Williams added balance to the attack with 112 rushing yards, a touchdown run, and a receiving touchdown. Charleston jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with touchdown passes from Hamric to Williams (10 yards) and Bosmans (57 yards). After Livingstone cut the margin with a 43-yard field goal, the Golden Eagles stretched their lead before halftime. Hamric found
Marquan Herron on a 25-yard strike and connected again with Bosmans from 19 yards out, giving UC a 27-3 edge at the break.
Livingstone's lone touchdown came in the third quarter on a 63-yard run by Dontavius Phillips, but Charleston quickly answered. Williams broke free for a 39-yard rushing touchdown, and Bosmans capped the scoring with his third touchdown reception of the night — a 26-yarder early in the fourth quarter. Charleston piled up 556 yards of total offense, including 271 on the ground, while limiting the Blue Bears to 320 yards overall. The Golden Eagles controlled the tempo with nearly 39 minutes of possession and converted eight third downs. Defensively, UC recorded four sacks and forced two fumbles to keep Livingstone out of rhythm. With the win, Charleston improves to 1-0 on the season, while Livingstone falls to 0-1.
