Three More Points for the Golden Eagles

Buckhannon, W.Va. -The University of Charleston Golden Eagles travelled to West Virginia Wesleyan College this past Sunday for a Mountain East Conference matchup.

The Basics:
Location: Culpepper Stadium
Score: UC 2, WVWC 0
Records: UC 6-0-2 (4-0-1 MEC) WV Wesleyan 2-5-0 (1-5-0 MEC)

How it Happened:
UC got off to a fast start and were ahead inside 7 minutes as Allan Logrillo headed home from a Tomas Muller cross. Nine minutes later, the Golden Eagles doubled their lead. Franco Tradatti played a longer aerial ball over the top of the Bobcats defense for Martin Echarren, and Echarren beat the Wesleyan keeper in a race to loop a header over him and into the net. Joao Silva then had an opportunity from a corner which was well saved by the keeper, and the Golden Eagles ended the half with seven shots.

Into the second half and Wesleyan's only real half chance of the game came two minutes after the restart. A looped header from a corner hit the top of the crossbar, but was never troubling Kostis Parisis in the Charleston goal. UC's best chance of the half fell to Miku Dawit on the right hand side of the Wesleyan area but he blazed over. It was a comfortable second half for the Golden Eagles as they saw out the game for the clean sheet and their fourth win in succession.

Up Next:
Next up for the Golden Eagles is a WorldFest WAC Wednesday encounter with West Liberty on October 1st. Kick off is scheduled for 7pm.
