WAC Wednesday Ends in Triumph

| By:
Charleston, W.Va. -The University of Charleston Golden Eagles welcomed West Liberty to the WAC this past Wednesday for a Mountain East Conference matchup.

The Basics:
Location: Welch Athletic Complex
Score: UC 3, WLU 0
Records: UC 7-0-2 (5-0-1 MEC) West Liberty 2-4-3 (1-3-2 MEC)

How it Happened:
It was a lightning quick start from the home team as Allan Logrillo was found six yards out inside the first minute, but he was unable to keep the ball under the bar with his effort. In the second minute however, the breakthrough came. Leonardo Dutra won the ball in the middle of midfield and reversed a through ball into the path of Martin Echarren, and he made no mistake in slotting it past the Hilltoppers keeper with a tidy right footed finish in the bottom left corner. West Liberty's best chance of the half came straight after the restart, as a cross fell to a Hilltoppers attacker, but Franco Tradatti was on the line to thwart the effort. In the 15th minute, Charleston's lead was doubled as Tradatti was again involved. He got in front of the Hilltoppers center forward and drove to around 25 yards out before firing a great curled effort into the left side of the net. The scoreline remained 2-0 going into half time.

Into the second half and the first shot was West Liberty's, although it was easy for Kostantinos Parisis in goal. In the 66th minute, Charleston grabbed a third. Franco Tradatti played a channel ball into the path of Tomas Muller who found Tomas Petrungaro with a pass inside. Petrungaro's first touch took it round the Hilltoppers defender and slotted through the keeper's legs with a tidy finish to round off the scoring and give the Golden Eagles a 3-0 victory.
