How it Happened:
Charleston started this game red hot raining down three pointers. Early in the first half, Braden Chapman led scoring followed by Thomas Hailey. Quick buckets by Charleston got them out to an early 19-3 lead. Charleston would play tremendous defense in the half as they kept the pressure on the Tigers forcing turnovers and making them pay. Chapman and Hailey continued to dominate; Chapman from the outside and Hailey from the inside made a dangerous duo. Eli Robertson and Ben Nicol would add points to Charleston's total in this half, giving The Golden Eagles a comfortable lead to end the half up 51-19.
The Golden Eagles would pick up right where they left off starting the quarter on a 15-0 run. Matthew Shelton and Ben Nicol added threes to the process. UC continued to suffocate the tigers with their fast pace of play, giving Salem no room to make mistakes. Kaden Davis would heat up and knock down a couple of three pointers to widen the UC lead. At this point it seemed like The Golden Eagles could not miss and kept adding to the total amassing over one hundred points in this game. UC would go on to secure a big 106-44 win.
Braden Chapman and Thomas Hailey combined for forty-four points, both having twenty-two points a piece. Six total players from UC had double-digit points on an efficient night from the field.
