Viera, Fla. — The University of Charleston softball team picked up a 4–0 victory over Ursuline on Saturday afternoon during the Space Coast Spring Games.

How It Happened
Ursuline placed a runner on base in the top of the first inning with a walk, but Charleston pitcher Cali Masters recorded a pair of strikeouts to keep the game scoreless.
Charleston broke through in the bottom of the second inning. Caroline Dunn started the rally with a single before Robyn Wood reached on a fielder's choice. Aubriana Espinoza then delivered a double to center field that scored Wood for the first run of the game. Later in the inning, Emma Smith came through with a two-RBI double, bringing home Maya Hataway and Espinoza to give the Golden Eagles a 3–0 lead.
Charleston added another run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Robyn Wood singled to center and later moved into scoring position before Emma Smith singled to center field, driving Wood in to extend the Golden Eagles' lead to 4–0.
Ursuline threatened in the middle innings with a pair of hits in the fifth but could not bring a run across. Charleston's defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the shutout victory.
