Bridgeport, W.Va. — Charleston opened the day with a dominant no-hitter before backing it up with an offensive surge to sweep Salem University in Friday's doubleheader.
GAME 1
The Basics:

Score: Charleston 5, Salem 0
Records: Charleston (31-11, 15-3 MEC), Salem (13-24, 0-0)
How It Happened:
Charleston jumped out early as Kayla Moran launched a solo home run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Eagles broke the game open in the second inning, capitalizing on pressure and execution to score three runs. Kaleigh Serra and Emma Smith each drove in runs on productive outs before Ella Zucchero added an RBI single to push the lead to 4-0.
That was more than enough for Addison Mass, who delivered one of the most dominant performances of the season. Mass threw a complete-game no-hitter, striking out 11 and allowing just two walks while completely shutting down Salem.
Charleston added one more in the seventh, as Caraline Dunn brought home Zucchero to secure the 5-0 win.
GAME 2

Records: Charleston (32-11, 15-3 MEC), Salem (13-25, 0-0)
How It Happened:
Salem struck first with two runs in the opening inning, but Charleston responded immediately in the second with a four-run inning to take control.
Mianna Oglesby and Maya Hataway each delivered RBI hits to tie the game before Bianca Polistina drove in two more with a single to give Charleston a 4-2 lead.
Salem answered with a run in the second to cut it to 4-3, but Charleston quickly regained momentum.
In the fourth inning, the Golden Eagles broke things open again with four runs. Polistina continued her strong day with another RBI, while Taylor Hodson and Kayla Moran followed with run-producing at-bats to extend the lead to 8-3.
Laila Varney handled the rest from there, going the distance and holding Salem scoreless over the final five innings to secure the doubleheader sweep.
