Charleston, W.Va.- The University of Charleston Golden Eagles welcomed West Virginia Wesleyan College to the Welch Athletic Complex this past Wednesday for a Mountain East Conference matchup.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles were on the front foot from the outset and hit the bar early through Martin Echarren in the 6th minute, before Allan Logrillo opened the scoring 14 minutes in. Echarren's set preceded a Caio Moraes pass into the left-hand side of the area in which Logrillo finished brilliantly with the outside of his right foot to put the home side into the lead, and they never looked back. In the 21st minute, Echarren got on the scoresheet himself after Jose Suarez Monaco jumped to press, won the ball, and squared it for Echarren who couldn't miss. 30 seconds later, Echarren had two and Charleston had three as Logrillo rolled one across the six-yard area for him to pass into the net. The Golden Eagles were in the mood and added two more before the break, the first from a corner which was headed out to Miku Dawit, who found the bottom left corner on the volley from 20 yards. Tomas Petrungaro's front post flick from an Alberto Rodriguez corner in the 35th minute made it 5-0 to Charleston heading into the break.
Into the second half and there was no let off from the Golden Eagles. Four minutes into the second half, Eduardo Rodrigues was brought down in the area by the Bobcats 'keeper, and Martin Echarren stepped up to slot home his hat trick from twelve yards. An Allan Logrillo thunderbolt into the top left corner from the right-hand side of the area made it seven in the 56th minute, and Petrungaro then turned provider in the 68th as he laid one on a plate for Tobias Jervelund to bury for his first in Golden Eagle colors. Eduardo Rodrigues gave Logrillo a run for his money for goal of the day in the 75th minute after finishing a driving run from midfield with a rocket into the top left corner for 9-0, before Atem Kato completed the rout, expertly guiding his header from a Petrungaro free kick into the bottom right corner, tallying his first goal for Charleston. The Golden Eagles came away 10-0 winners, with 33 shots in total and 16 of those on target. It's now two clean sheets in a row for the Golden Eagles, and the win takes them to 5-1 (3-0 MEC) for the season.
