Lock Haven, PA – The Golden Eagles faced their first road test of the season on Wednesday, traveling to Lock Haven for their second game of the year.

How It Happened
Looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Kutztown, Charleston came out strong and controlled much of the possession early. Ciara Casamento recorded the first dangerous chance of the game just five minutes in, but her shot was saved by the Lock Haven goalkeeper. The Bald Eagles responded with a chance of their own, but Ines Degli Esposti made the save to keep the game scoreless. The Golden Eagles continued to create opportunities throughout the opening half. Isabella Cinco recorded Charleston's final chance before halftime, but her effort was once again denied by the Lock Haven goalkeeper. The teams headed into the break tied 0-0.
Lock Haven came out with increased pressure in the second half, forcing Degli Esposti into her first save of the half less than four minutes after the restart. Emilía Dís Óskarsdóttir received the first yellow card of the match shortly afterward. The Bald Eagles continued to apply pressure, keeping Charleston pinned in its own half and recording four shots over the next 10 minutes. Brooklyn Connelly picked up the second yellow card of the game in the 68th minute following a foul just outside the box. Charleston continued to search for an opening, with Zailee Roberts getting a chance in the 72nd minute. However, just one minute later, Lock Haven broke through with a low shot to take a 1-0 lead. The Golden Eagles nearly responded moments later when Abigail Harrison had an opportunity to equalize, but the Lock Haven defense quickly closed down the chance. Charleston continued to push for an equalizer but was unable to find the back of the net, ultimately falling 1-0.
Despite the result, Charleston finished the match with a 14-13 advantage in shots. Both goalkeepers recorded seven saves.
