Micka Stout is entering his fourth full season with the University of Charleston after joining the program in January 2020. He will serve the program as an assistant coach and director of operations.
In his four seasons as an assistant, Stout has been a part of the second most successful three season span in program history. During this span, the team amassed a 63-17 record, 2 conference championship game appearances, and 2 national tournament appearances as well. The Golden Eagles have never been lower than 7th in the nation in field goal percentage as a team. Including the 2021-22 season in which the program as finished near the top of the country in many metrics including leading the country in points per possession, percentage of time scored, and field goal percentage in after time out situations. The program also would finish second in the country in overall field goal percentage (51.9%).
Stout has assisted with scouting, recruiting, game-day administration, practice preparation, overseeing weight room development, leading the @UCWVMBB social media pages, and being the lead post development coach.
In his time of being the post development coach, Stout has worked with and coached 4 all conference players (Lamont McManus, Isaiah Gable, Eddie Colbert III, And Tyler Eberhart), and one conference freshman player of the year (CJ Meredith). Including the two leading scorers and rebounders from the 2022-23 season in Eberhart and Colbert III.
In his time as the director of basketball operations, Stout has handled all logistics of travel, scheduling, meals and lodging of the team on the road.
Stout has also spent 2 summers working for PGC “Point Guard College” as a Basket Instructor at different camps along the east coast. Leading groups of 20+ athletes through weeklong camps.
Originally from Schroon Lake, New York, Stout played both soccer and basketball in high school. From there, he attended the Word of Life Bible Institute where he played basketball.
Stout earned his Bachelors in Sports Business Administration & Biblical Studies online through Calvary University in November 2021.
