In the 2023 season the Men’s Volleyball team had a historical year as the program recorded 22 wins and 7 losses ,this included a 14 game win streak in the beginning of the season where the team did not drop a set. Coach Reynolds was also able to lead the program to its first ever wins over teams such as George Mason, NJIT, Lincoln Memorial and perennial power houses The Ohio State University. The UC program in 2023, also ranked nationally for the first time ever ranking as high as 13th in the AVCA D1/2 Coaches poll. The team was also ranked 1st in the D2 polls for the majority of the season. Throughout the season statistically the UC Men’s Volleyball team ranked Nationally in the NCAA Top 3 for Blocks per set, Opposition attack efficiency and Attack efficiency. Coach Reynolds was named for the first time EIVA Coach of the Year for his exceptional work in the 2023 season.
Along with the team success the program was also recognized with three 1st team All EIVA, two 2nd All EIVA, and two Honorable mentions All EIVA. Diego Villafane was also elected as the AVCA Player of the Week in March for his performances against Harvard. Not to mention several individual athletes were ranked nationally throughout the year in NCAA stat categories. Concluding the 2023 season - 4 Charleston players went on to receive professional contracts abroad under the guidance of Coach Reynolds.
In 2022/23 Coach Reynolds begun working with the USAV High Performance program attending training camps as an Assistant Coach for the U19/U20 USA Junior Team.
Coach Reynolds took over the University of Charleston Men’s Volleyball Program after working extensively for the past 10 years as a professional volleyball coach in Europe and Internationally with the Australian Men’s National Team. Prior to arriving at Charleston Reynolds worked with the Australian Men’s National team at the 21st Asian Championships in Japan. He was responsible for the training camp held in Canberra, Australia and prepared the team leading into the tournament. At the tournament Reynolds was responsible for creating the scouting reports, game plans and teams strength and conditioning programs. This is the 5th year that he has been involved with the National Team and at the international level.

Reynolds has developed a career not just internationally but in Europe as a professional coach.
His last 2 professional seasons in Europe before coming to the NCAA, Coach Reynolds worked in the top Polish club Jastrzebski Wegiel. In 2020/21 he was the Head Coach leading the team they played both in the Polish PlusLiga and CEV Champions League. In league play Reynolds team went 17 -6, and eventually went on to win the Gold medal and crowned league champions for the first time in 20 years. In CEV Champions League his team went 4 – 0 against teams from Netherlands, Belarus, Romania qualifying for the final round, which they later had to withdraw from due to COVID protocols.
In Season 2019/20 worked as the Assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach at Jastrzebski Wegiel. His mentors and Head coaches he worked under for this season was Italian expert Roberto Santilli, and Serbian National Team coach Slobodan Kovac. Mid way through the season Coach Reynolds acted as the interim coach as the club changed coaches, he went 3/3 wins with the team. At the end of the season Jastrzebski Wegiel were placed 2nd on the table, before the federation decided to cut short the season due to COVID, the Polish team also played and qualified for the semi final of the CEV Champions League before it was stopped due to the pandemic.
In 2017/18 Season Reynolds was selected to be the Head Coach at the infamous German club Berlin Recycling Volleys at the age of only 30 years old. His team played in the German Bundasliga and CEV Champions League where Reynolds was the youngest Champions League coach by 15 years. Berlin was placed 2nd after regular season and eventually went on to win the Bundesliga Championship. They also qualified for the final round of the CEV Champions League.
In 2016/2017 Coach Reynolds began working for Polish team Jastrzebski Wegiel along side fellow Australian Coach Mark Lebedew. Reynolds was responsible for the strength and conditioning and assistant coach duties. The team ended up finishing 3rd in the League and went on to win a Bronze Medal in the Polish championships. The team also qualified for the semi finals of Cup before being knocked out. After the season Coach Reynolds was elevated to the role of Assistant coach and Strength and Conditioning coach of the Australian Men’s National Team with Coach Mark Lebedew.
Previous to Poland, he worked professionally as a Head Coach in Cyprus with Nea Salamina, Sweden at Svedal Volleys, Volunteer assistant at Soverto in Italy and with his alumni Brandon University, Canada.
Reynolds graduated from Brandon University in Manitoba, Canada after playing 4 seasons as a Bobcat, he graduated with both a Bachelors in Physical Education a Masters Degree in Teaching. He is a Level 2 ASCA (Australian Strength and Conditioning Association) and has been specializing in volleyball for the past 11 years.
Coach Reynolds is happily married to his wife Hillary (Hurley) Reynolds who currently is the Head Women's Volleyball coach at West Virginia State and lives with their fur baby Bear.
