Jenna Theden is entering her sixth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics and performance after transitioning into the role in the summer of 2019. Jenna oversees academic progress and the GRASP (Golden Eagle Retention and Academic Success Program) for all student-athletes at the University of Charleston. Theden resigned as the UC Head Women’s Volleyball Coach in spring of 2021 to fulfill the newly created role of Athletic Academic Success Director which allowed the GRASP program to adapt into a full-time study hall program for the entire Athletic Department.

Jenna graduated from the University of Charleston in 2009 with degrees in Interior Design and Fine Arts and in 2018 with a Master’s degree in strategic leadership. She played volleyball for the Golden Eagles from 2005 to 2008 under now UC Director of Athletics, Dr. Bren Stevens. During her collegiate career, the Women’s Volleyball team won three WVIAC women's volleyball titles and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

While Jenna is an Illinois native, she considers herself a West Virginian having resided in Charleston since 2014. Jenna owns and directs Vantage Volleyball, a youth volleyball club in Charleston established 2018.
