PRINCETON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston continued its strong tradition as one of the top schools in the West Virginia Conference when it comes to student-athlete success in the classroom. This year 62 Golden Eagle student-athletes were named to the WVIAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced Wednesday morning.

This year five hundred forty-eight WVIAC student-athletes have been selected to the 2010-11 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Qualifying student-athletes are classified as a junior or senior and have obtained a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the end of the term of attendance in which the sport was concluded. 

The women's basketball and women's rowing teams were well represented as UC was the only school to split the institutions Scholar-Athlete of the Year between four female competitors with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Lindsey Kentner (Wapakoneta, Ohio), Ali Tobias (Painesville, Ohio), Debbie Amos (Parkersburg, W.Va.) and Kelsey Ash (Fairmont, W.Va.) were each honored as University of Charleston's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Men's soccer player Michael Osuji (Imo State, Nigeria) and men's tennis player Eric Bodge (Washington, W.Va.) split the Co-Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor.
