Men's Tennis Advances to WVIAC Championship

Charleston 5 Fairmont 0

Charleston made quick work of Fairmont in the first round the WVIAC conference tournament. The Golden Eagles regained their confidence in doubles and didn’t lose a single game in any of the three doubles matches. Charleston made quick work of Fairmont in singles as they won 4^th and 5^th singles without dropping a game. They face Bluefield State College in the semi-finals.

Charleston 5 Bluefield 3

Charleston upsets No. 2 seed Bluefield in the WVIAC conference semi-finals. Charleston took at 2-1 lead following the doubles. Senior Matt Hughes was player of the match winning both at first doubles and winning a huge victory at 3^rd singles. Sophomore Kris Riede clinched the match at the #6 position giving the Golden Eagles a 5-3 victory over Bluefield. The Golden Eagles will play West Virginia Wesleyan College in the finals at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 24^th.
