Kanawha Valley rivals collide for the fifth time when West Virginia State makes the short trip down I-64 to meet archrival Charleston...State fell to 0-2 last week with a 34-21 loss at Virginia State, while UC enjoyed an open date after downing Mars Hill 42-20 two weeks ago...WVSU quarterbacks Ricky Phillips and Robert Jackson have combined to complete nearly 69% of their pass attempts, but the Jackets have only managed 45.0 yards per game on the ground...WR Jermain King owns 171 career receptions and needs ten catches to become the all-time leader at WVSU...The senior is currently second in the WVIAC with 95.5 receiving yards per game...WR Benjamin Kearse is third in the WVIAC with 13 catches

Charleston QB Blaine Wilson leads his team in rushing (49.5 ypg) and passing (132.5 ypg)...RB Jordan Roberts contributed 46 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Mars Hill...WR Andre Higgins has at least one touchdown catch in seven of his past 12 games, including both contests in 2010...Opponents have only rushed for 68.5 yards per game against the UC defense...The Golden Eagles have excelled on special teams as they rank in WVIAC's top three in kickoff coverage, net punting, kickoff returns, and punt returns.
