CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Charleston (2-1, 1-0) blanked rival West Virginia State (0-3, 0-1) for a second straight season in a 42-0 rout. Quarterback Blaine Wilson (Richwood, Ohio/North Union) rushed for three touchdowns and the Golden Eagles held State to 26 rush yards.

Lamonte Lattimore (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) added a 62-yard touchdown and ended with a game-high 113 yards rushing for UC. Jordan Roberts (Madison, W.Va./Scott) chipped another rushing score and 55 yards on 10 carries. Wilson completed 5 of 8 passes for 92 yards on the afternoon.

Robert Jackson hit on 15 of 25 passes for 132 yards to pace State. Dominique Matthews had 15 tackles in defeat for the Jackets.

UC owned a 21-0 edge at the half and pushed the lead to 35-0 after three quarters. Justin Nelson's 39-yard punt return score early in the fourth quarter closed out the scoring for the Golden Eagles.
