CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Seton Hill carries the heavy load of being the defending WVIAC baseball champions into every series this season, but they exerted control to leave no doubt they have plans to repeat in a doubleheader sweep of the UC baseball, Tuesday afternoon.

The current West Virginia Conference Northern Division leaders at 13-5 with an 8-0 conference mark outscored the Golden Eagles (5-18, 2-9) 22-1 on the afternoon, while accumulating 26 hits to Charleston's six.

Seton Hill easily wrapped up the first game of the series with two runs in the each of the first four innings, before adding two more runs in the fifth to seal the 10-0 win. UC starter Mike Morency (Parkland, Fla./Coral Springs Christian) suffered his first loss of the season allowing eight runs on six hits in 3.1 innings action.

The second game offered little relief for the Golden Eagles as freshman starter Jake Ciofli (Cranston, R.I./Cranston East) was tagged for four runs in 4.1 innings on the mound, before the Griffins struck for six runs off reliever Christian Turnipseed (Powder Springs, Ga./Harrison) to set up the 12-1 victory as SHU capitalized on three UC errors.

The University of Charleston will seek to end its current 10 game losing streak when it returns to the diamond to face Davis & Elkins on Saturday, April 2 for a 1:00 pm doubleheader at Appalachian Power Park.
