CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The tournament run for the No. 6 seeded University of Charleston volleyball squad came to an end against No. 2 seed Seton Hill 3-0, Friday night at Eddie King Gym by scores of 25-16, 26-24, 25-17.
UC was its own worst enemy in the defeat hitting .023 as team with 33 errors in 128 attacks. Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was
Malleri Hardison (Uniontown, PA) with 13 kills on the night. Next in line on the evening was
Victoria Severo (Meadville, PA) with eight Kills. Senior
Ashley Douglas (Amherstburg, Canada) led the defensive effort with 18 digs for the Golden Eagles.
Seton Hill was led by Shelby Kyllo with eight kills, while Corrine Gahagen followed with seven as no Griffin offensive player had double-digit scoring on the evening.
Charleston wraps up their 2012 campaign, the first under head coach Jason Kozak, with a final record of 16-16 that included a 9-5 mark in West Virginia Conference play.
