Men's Golf Headed Back to NCAA Tournament



INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the third-consecutive season the University of Charleston men's golf team has landed a spot in the East/Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Tournament to be held in Hershey, Pa. beginning Monday, May 7.

Charleston heads into NCAA Tournament play with six top-3 finishes this season that includes wins in the West Virginia Conference Central and Southern regional tournaments.

In their latest regional competition the Golden Eagles went head-to-head with nearly all teams represented in the Atlantic Regional selections to take a third place finish at the IUP Invite led by Harry Howell (Madison, WV) firing a tournament low round of 69.

UC faces off against a group of familiar foes as WVIAC contenders Bluefield State, Concord and Davis & Elkins also received bids from the 10 team Atlantic Region.

The team will tee off on Monday, May 7 at the Hershey Country Club to begin the three-round competition. From the 20 team regional tournament the top five teams after three days of competition will advance to the Division II Spring Festival in Louisville, Ky. for the NCAA Tournament finals.
