CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A clean sweep of doubles play vaulted the University of Charleston men's tennis squad to a 7-2 victory over conference foe West Liberty, Friday afternoon.
Matthew Sherba (Oxford, OH) got Charleston off to a winning start with a victory at the No. 1 singles positions after downing his competition 6-3, 6-4.
The University of Charleston took a clean 5-0 advantage with a No. 3 singles win as
Dennis Okoth (Nairobi, Kenya) registered a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win. After West Liberty took wins in the No. 2 and No. 4 positions the Golden Eagles captured the match win with victories by
Richard Williams (Cincinnati, OH) and
Andrew Jarrett (Charleston, WV) to round out the 7-2 victory.
