Box Score 2 Shepherdstown, WV - The Golden Eagles used an extra frame to pick up a WVIAC win in a doubleheader split with Shepherd, winning Game One 3-1.
Game one saw both pitching staffs put up great performances against the opposing batters, limiting one another to only one run after the end of the seventh, before UC came away with two unearned runs in the top of the eighth to steal a victory from the Rams.
Shepherd would get the scoring started in the second inning on a solo homerun that gave the home team a 1-0 lead. Charleston would even up the score in the 4th inning on a RBI single by
Ryan Foster (Cincinnati, OH) that would score

Josh Weinberg (Margate, Fla.) had command over the Rams hitters, going 6 2/3 innings before giving way to Lakatos who ended up getting the win. Charleston would get the winning run in the eighth when
Josh Easterling (Chapmanville, WV) would reach on an error by the Shepherd first baseman that allowed Molina to score. UC would add an insurance run on a
Tyler Hathaway (Fredericktown, OH) single, that would eventually lead Charleston to a 3-1 victory.
Shepherd jumped all over UC in the second game hammering out 21 hits in scoring 20 runs to go on for a 20-2 win over the Golden Eagles. Charleston would throw six pitchers in the losing effort, with the starter
Jordan Banks (Chapmanville, WV) taking the loss as he was unable to get out of the first inning before being pulled.
Charleston goes to 8-13 overall on the season but is 6-5 in WVIAC play. UC will travel to Glenville on Friday to take on the Pioneers.
