Box Score 2 Charleston, WV - The University of Charleston got off to a slow start against Wheeling Jesuit Tuesday dropping game one, but rebounded in the second game to come up with a 5-0 win.
Charleston would fall in game one to the Cardinals by a score of 2-0 as the UC offense could only manage five hits off WJU pitcher Ashley Nichols.  WJU would get their first run in the second inning when the Golden Eagle left fielder misjudged a deep fly ball that ended up over her head allowing a run to score.  That was all Wheeling would need but added a second run in the sixth inning just to be safe.  WVIAC Co-Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Fain would take the loss taking her record to 6-5 on the season, ending her three game win streak.
Coach Loeser would shake up the lineup in game two and the new additions to the starting nine responded with a 5-0 win.
Morgan Aguirre would rebound from her previous outing to throw a complete game shutout of the Cardinals, striking out nine in the process of improving her record to 6-6 on the season.  It was Morgan's eight complete game of the season.
Kelly Browning would get the scoring started in the bottom of the third when her single would score
Allison Evans, who managed to reach base three of her four opportunities in game two.  First baseman
Kayln Butt followed Browning's RBI single with a two-run shot down the left field line to make the score 3-0 at the end of three.  Butt would strike again in the fifth, this time with the Evans twins on base, she laced a single into the right center gap that brought home Allison and
Jenna Evans.  Butt would drive in four of the five runs in the second game for the Golden Eagles. The 1-6 hitters for UC went 9-for-18, the type of production Loeser was looking for from the top half of his lineup.
UC returns to action tomorrow as the host Walsh University with the first pitch set for 1pm.
