Baseball Draws Seton Hill in First Round of WVIAC Tourney

PRINCETON, W. Va. – Seedings for the 2013 WVIAC Tournament came down to the final weekend of the regular season, but everything is now finalized for this week’s tournament, which takes place May 1-4 in Beckley, W. Va.

Seton Hill claimed the No. 1 seed in the North while Shepherd garnered the No. 2 spot. West Liberty is No. 3 in the North while Fairmont State grabbed the No. 4 slot.

West Virginia State won the South Division, earning the top spot. Concord, which won the tournament the last time it was in Beckley, is tabbed the No. 2 seed from the South. Davis & Elkins earned the No. 3 spot while the University of Charleston rounds out the field with the No. 4 seed in the upcoming tournament.

The tournament is a double-elimination format, with play beginning May 1 and the championship game slated for May 4.

Concord and West Liberty open the tournament at 9:30 a.m. on May 1. Seton Hill plays Charleston at 12:30 p.m. in the second game of the day. Shepherd squares off against Davis & Elkins in game three, which is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. West Virginia State and Fairmont State will play the final game of the first day. First pitch for the contest is slated for 6:30 p.m.
