PRINCETON, W. Va. –  Charleston’s Abby Nicholas (Warren, OH) has been named the WVIAC Pitcher of the Week for her perfect game performance against Bluefield State earlier this week, as announced by the league office.

Nicholas, a junior hurler from Warren, Ohio, tossed a perfect game against Bluefield State. In the five-inning victory, she struck out five batters, forced six fly-outs and four grounders. She came back and worked the fifth inning of the second contest against the Lady Blues, facing three batters and giving up just one hit.

Nicholas makes the third Golden Eagle pitcher to be honored with the WVIAC Pitcher of the Week award for the 2013 season, joining Courtney Fain and Morgan Aguirre.
