Maurice Leak lead an efficient first quarter going 5-7 for 25 yards while adding a field goal on their second series by Puma Nuredini. The 49 yard kick tied Nuredini longest and set the Saluki Stadium record.

Following the field goal, UC held SI to a three and out hoping for a change of momentum. The offense was able to get a couple first downs but had to punt. The defensive was quickly able to regain the ball with Ricky Steel causing a fumble that was recovered by Rockford Stone. A stout SI defense smothered UC the next three plays causing a UC punt. SI started taking big chunks from the Golden Eagles scoring a touchdown in eleven plays. On the successive series with the end of the second half looming, UC was able to make a first down before having to punt leaving less than a minute on the clock. SI quickly moved the ball up the field scoring in six plays with a touchdown pass with four seconds remaining. The second half ends with SI on top 21-3.

Opening the second half, UC was able to make two first downs quickly over three plays before a Leak interception gave the ball back to SI. With the change of possession SI looked for a big play making a long pass and catch down to the UC three. The defensive unit regrouped and was able keep the Salukis out of the end zone and forced a field goal. SI takes a 24-3 lead. The Offense could not muster any offense and punted. SI took over and immediately had a big rush but the defense held firm closing with a third down sack by Zack Erb. After the SI punt UC found their position at 48 for their best starting position of the day. UC started moving the ball with four yard plays until Leak fumbled trying to extend the play. SI started out with the wildcat formation moving the ball down the field before a false start and sack by Curtis Robbins pushed the Salukis outside the goal line. SI responded on third and long with pro-formation and threw a touchdown pass. The third quarter closes with SI up 31-3.

UC started the fourth quarter with a couple of good runs before a big loss on an outlet pass and a dropped pass. The Salukis take over and throw an interception to Trei Kelly who returns the ball 50 yards. It is the first interception on the season for the Golden Eagles. UC broke out with a big play on a screen for 38 yards to the three yard line. John Knox took the next play up the middle for the touchdown. The score is Knox second for the year. Nuredini made the point after for his 44 consecutive pat. SI came out trying to respond but a fired up UC defense caused a three and out. UC faltered on the series but recovered a fumble on the punt and regained possession. UC was unable to improve field possession and punted. SI takes over before another fumble by recovered by Dorian Curry. With 43 seconds remaining UC runs out the clock to end the game. The game closes out 32-10 for SI.
