Box Score
Two defensive scores, five interceptions, nine pass break ups, two sacks, and ten tackles for loss is a sure fire way to win any game. The Golden Eagles showed the explosive unit Coach Kirkland had hoped for to lead the way Saturday afternoon at the University of Virginia at Wise. Defensive touchdowns by Torie Wagner and Bam Harrison were the highlights of a defensive backfield that tied the single game record of five interceptions for the Golden Eagles. The defensive unit held the Cavs to two yards a carry and less than 100 yards on the day on the ground. On offense, UC looked more like the team of last year rushing for 227 yards on 46 attempts. Leighton Settle carried the bulk of the load rushing 128 yards on 17 attempts. It is the first 100 yard game from a Golden Eagle this season.
