Box Score Charleston, W.Va. - The Golden Eagles Women's Volleyball team suffered a tough 3-0 defeat today at the hands of Wheeling Jesuit University.
Charleston appeared to be overmatched from the outset as the Cardinals rattled off three straight sets in convcincing manner. Wheeling Jesuit used an impressive .300 kill percentage for the match to keep threats from UC at bay. They also used an dominating defensive effort at the net to come away with nine blocks on the Golden Eagle kill attempts.
Clairissa Larry (University Heights, OH) was Charleston's most effective hitter on the day, getting seven kills on her 14 attack attempts.Â
Melissa Reyes (Lima, Peru) and
Brenna Barker (Sedona, AZ) were nearly equal in assists as they finished the match with 10 and 9 respectively.Â
The Golden Eagles will hit the road for a three match stretch starting with a match at Glenville on Oct. 1 at 7pm.
