Slippery Rock capitalized from a bad pass in the opening minutes to give Francis a one on one with Veit with little hope of success. Veit was able to tip the shot but the ball found its way to the back of the net. Seven minutes later, Slippery Rock struck again as Brake headed the ball in from a mid-field throw from Gray. In the first, UC was only able to muster four shots on goal and missed a golden opportunity from a corner that sailed high.

The second half showed less intensity from both clubs but UC was the more aggressive team taking five shots to Slippery Rocks two. The Golden Eagles best attempt came from a shot inside the box that careened off the cross bar. In the 83^rd minute Ramirez broke away from two UC defenders to slip the ball past Veit for a 3-0 lead.
