Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The #2-ranked University of Charleston Men's Soccer team defeated Mountain East Conference opponent, Concord University, 2-0 at Schoenbaum Stadium last night.

Charleston struggled to break down the Concord defense for the majority of the match. With much possession, UC tried to penetrate time after time but was unable to find the back of the net.
Michael Barroilhet (Sainte Maxime, France) came the closest in the first half as he hit the cross bar with a well struck shot from 30 yards. Concord also had a chance in the first half on a fast break but UC's goalkeeper
Justin Bryant (Amelisaburg, Ontario) was there to make the save. The half finished 0-0 with UC holding the majority of possession and chances.

The second half begin in similar fashion as the Golden Eagles poured on the attack but still had a tough time breaking down the Concord defense. It wasn't until Captain
Conor Branson (Pontefract, England) found the back of the net after a few swift passes inside the box from
Michael Hagarty (Wellington, New Zealand) and
Augusto Maciel (Sao Paulo, Brazil). With a 1-0 lead, UC continued to push as freshmen
Will Roberts (Denbigh, Wales) streaked down the right flank and earned a penalty shot in which he beat Concord's goalkeeper and made the score 2-0. The match held to that score with Bryant earning the shut out on the night.

With the win Charleston moves to 9-0-0 on the season and 5-0-0 in the MEC. UC is on the road next to face West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, W.Va. on Sunday, at 1pm.
