Glenville, W.Va. – The Men's Basketball Team started with a set back as Slippery Rock University used 10 three-pointers and hot shooting of 42 percent from three to narrowly nip the University of Charleston in 65-62 loss Friday night in the Waco Center Classic.

On the night for SRU Kelvin Goodwin went 5-for-7 from behind the arc and led all scorers with 17 points.  Three other Slippery Rock players added double-digit scoring efforts.  The difference maker in the ball game was the rebounding margin as The Rock out rebounded the Golden Eagles 52-35.    
 
For Charleston who led at the half 30-29 was led by Cameron Dozier (Graceville, FL) with 16 points, followed by Vincent Dillard (Sanford, FL) with 12 points and Aleksander Kesic (Belgrade, Serbia) with 11 points on the evening.  Deandre Leatherwood (Germantown, MD) managed nine points and eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles to pave the way on the glass.

UC is back in action tomorrow in their second game of the Waco Center Classic as they will take on Gannon University at 6pm in Glenville, W.Va.  Gannon defeated the Golden Eagles last year in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
