Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston women's softball team kicked off its home opener Friday against Salem International University, defeating the Tigers 3-2 and 8-4.

In game one, Courtney Fain picked up her third win of the season going the distance, scattering six hits and two runs while striking out four.  Andrea Hayes led the way for UC with two hits and a run scored while Samantha Herndon was 1-2 with a walk.  The big two-out hit came from senior Angel Withrow, who doubled home two runs in the sixth.  Fain would retire the side in order to seal the come-from-behind victory.
