Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston women's softball team ran its winning streak to seven games Saturday swiping a double-header against Queens University of Charlotte by the scores of, 4-3 and 1-0.Â
In game one, Courtney Fain worked out of trouble late but managed to pick up her fifth win of the season while striking out six and only scattering five hits. At the plate, Katelyn Hamilton, Andrea Hayes, and Kendal LeFrancois each had two hits apiece for the Golden Eagles who tallied nine in the game. Hamilton's production came with runners on base as she drove in three as UC took the 4-3 victory.
In game two, sophomore Morgan Aquirre pitched a 2-hit gem striking out 11 batters, including a key two-out strikeout with the bases loaded to end the sixth. Aquirre moved to 3-2 on the season while the lone run would be scored in the first after Hayes who was hit by a pitch would score on a Hamilton single.  Â
UC moves to 8-3 on the season and is back in action tomorrow at 1P.M. against Edinboro University of Pennsylvania at the UC Softball Complex.
