CHARLESTON, W.Va. - University of Charleston overmatched the visiting West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets 9-0 Thursday afternoon at the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts in Kanawha City.
All nine matches were completed in just under 90 minutes as the Golden Eagles surrendered just two games total over the course of the match. The lopsided win improved Charleston's overall record to 11-5 and kept their unbeaten record intact in Mountain East Conference play at 6-0. The men waste no time getting back on the court as they head to Athens Friday afternoon to face the Concord University Mountain Lions in the MEC finale. Concord is currently third in the MEC with a 4-2 conference record.
A win over the Mountain Lions guarantees the Golden Eagles a first place regular season finish and MEC Championship before heading into the MEC Tournament next week.
