BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston's Matt Sherba has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week. 

Sherba, a senior from Oxford, Ohio, was instrumental in UC's win over West Virginia Wesleyan in a showdown between two of the top teams in the MEC and in the Atlantic Region. He claimed a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles and then picked up an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles aginst the Bobcats.

Other Top Performers
Steve Kolumban (Shepherd) was 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles for the Rams ... Diogo Monteiro (Concord) was victorious in singles and doubles in wins over West Liberty and West Virginia State.
