CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Charleston men's tennis team ended their season this afternoon after suffering a 5-4 loss to Edinboro in the Preliminary Round of the NCAA DII Men's Tennis Championship at Schoenbaum Courts.
UC, host of the Atlantic Region, fell behind early to the Fighting Scots, dropping two of the three doubles courts. The Golden Eagles rallied in singles by winning three of the first four courts to even the match at 4-4, but couldn't complete the comeback losing the final court in a heartbreaking three set match. Charleston concludes the 2013-14 season with a 15-7 overall record and won the first ever Mountain East Conference Men's Tennis regular season championship.
Edinboro goes on to face Kutztown University tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Schoenbaum Courts with the winner advancing to the Sweet 16 in Alamonte Springs, Fla. on May 14.
