Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball earned their first victory of the season against Ohio Valley University Tuesday evening in their home opener defeating the Fighting Scots, 3-0. 

UC was led by Clairissa Larry with nine kills, Jordan Wittekind with seven kills, and Payton Logan with 21 digs. Audrey Baysinger also showed a great presence on the court with her aggressive jump serving. OVU's offensive attack was handled by the defense of the Golden Eagles as only two Fighting Scots earned nine kills each.

The Golden Eagles trailed in the first two sets and were able to not only close the gap, but also push ahead to win both sets by five points. With tough serving and increasingly aggressive offense UC was able to achieve the win in three sets. The atmosphere in the gym was electric and the crowd was a great seventh player for the team.

The team will travel to Erie, PA to compete in a PSAC/MEC crossover tournament at Mercyhurst University on Friday, where they will be taking on Edinboro University, Gannon University, and Mercyhurst University.
