#4 Men's Soccer defeats #22 Notre Dame in Overtime Thriller

Harrison scores in overtime to defeat #22 Notre Dame, 1-0
Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Andrew Harrison took a one-time touch from Lewis Osborne in the 102nd minute and found the back of the net for what was a game-winning goal for the #4 University of Charleston Men's Soccer Team as they defeated #22 Notre Dame University Wednesday night in an early season Mountain East Conference Top-25 battle.

Shots on goal were hard to come by.  Both goalies, Fabian Veit for UC and Spencer Semple of NDC only faced three shots that needed to be saved combined.  None bigger than in the 37th minute of the first half when Semple stopped UC's Kevin Feucht penalty kick for a hand ball in the box.  Spencer totaled two saves and Veit just one.   Tempo didn't falter throughout the 103 minutes as both teams had multiple opportunities to take a lead. Stellar defense and unlucky bounces seem to hamper offense production.  UC managed to get of 11 shots and NDC accounted for eight themselves.

Charleston remains undefeated on the 2014 season and moves to 5-0, 2-0 in MEC play.  The Golden Eagles are back in action at home Saturday, September 20th with kick-off set for 4pm.
