Women's Volleyball falls to Ohio Dominican

Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Golden Eagles played a non-conference match Tuesday against Ohio Dominican University with the Panthers taking the hard-fought victory against University of Charleston.  The match went to four sets, with UC taking the first set and ODU followed by winning three consecutive sets.  With the lost, UC has the record of 1-8, ODU improved to 4-4. 
 
The Golden Eagles played aggressively throughout the match, putting up impressive kill percentages for the team.  Several players put up solid numbers, including Jordan Wittekind with nine kills, four blocks.  Randi Estrada earned five kills and two blocks, and Payton Logan led the team with 11 kills and 11 digs.  Elle Martin demonstrated a solid defensive game with 21 digs.
 
The Panthers were able to put away a lot of good balls, but Charleston always seemed to rally back with a strong middle offense, and exceptional service receive numbers.  The games were tight with service runs on both sides of the court. ODU players put up impressive numbers with Jackie Oestreich leading with 12 kills.  Caitlin Kusan also played an impressive game with 11 kills.
 
The Golden Eagles play back to back matches away this weekend against Wheeling Jesuit, ranked 9th in the nation, on Friday at 7pm and West Liberty on Saturday at 11am.
