Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan Friday night in a five-set match. This moves UC to 2-2 in the Mountain East Conference play. The Bobcats started strong winning the first set, however, the Golden Eagles answered in the following two winning both. Wesleyan's strong fourth set put the match at the decisive fifth and after battling hard the Golden Eagles pulled out the win.
Jordan Wittekind (Charleston, WV) led Charleston with 12 kills and three aces. Other key players featured Audrey Baysinger (Camby, IN) with nine kills, 10 aces, and 27 digs. Clairissa Larry (University Heights, OH) and Payton Logan (Brentwood, TN) both added eight kills a piece.
For WVWC, Erin Bond earned 20 kills and Stacie Baumann had 14.
UC will host West Virginia State University Tuesday night, at 7 p.m., in the Eddie King Gym.
