Wise, Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Basketball team used its smothering defense to hold UVA-Wise to just 48 points and a staggering 32-percent from the floor in a 85-48, victory at the Prior Center.Â
The Golden Eagles winning streak moves to four and ties a season high of consecutive victories this season. Offense was no struggle for UC as 10 players made baskets and four were in double figures.

Cameron Dozier,
Tino DiTrapano, and
Aleksander Kesic led the charge for UC. Hughes's 14 points led the way with Dozier adding 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Also with 12, was DiTrapano whose six assists were a team high, while also grabbing six rebounds. Kesic added 10 points going 2-of-3 from behind the arch. On the night UC shot 49-percent connecting on 31 field goals. Charleston out rebounded the Cavs 47-27 and forced 12 turnovers in the game.
Phillip Owens II led the Cavaliers now (1-14, 0-10 MEC) with a team-high 11 points and three assists. Brian Sydnor finished a little shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
With the victory Charleston moves to 12-4 on the season and 7-3 in the MEC. Charleston is back in action as they travel to Institute, WV for a 7:30pm tip-off on Jan. 22
