VIENNA, W.Va. - The University of Charleston men's basketball team won its third straight game Saturday, easily defeating Ohio Valley University 94-61 behind 17 points from senior forward Aleksander Kesic.
UC was quite efficient from the floor connecting on 62% of their field goal attempts to run away with the 33-point victory over the Fighting Scots. Kesic led the way in the scoring column, followed by Jevonte Hughes who chipped in 14 points and eight rebouds. Tino diTrapano made the most of his 21 minutes on the court scoring 13 points, pulling down six rebounds and dishing out four assists.Â
The Golden Eagle defense smothered the Scots in the second half, holding Ohio Valley to just 28% shooting from the floor. UC went on to outscore OVU 46-27 over the final 20 minutes building on their 14-point halftime lead.
Charleston (5-4, 3-1 MEC) gets seven days of rest before another non-conference road matchup with Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va. on Saturday, December 19th. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
