WHEELING, W.Va. –
Tino DiTrapano's (Charleston, WV) 17 points and six assists helped lead the University of Charleston Men's Basketball team to a much needed victory over the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University. Having dropped two of their last three contests UC managed to control many aspects of the game and take the 67-63 victory Monday night.
Charleston held WJU to just 13-percent from behind the arch surrendering just three three-pointers on the night, while Charleston shot 44-percent connecting on 10 3-pointers. Rebounding favored the Golden Eagles as well as UC held a 43-30 advantage with 12 of them being offensive.Â

Octavius Green (Gainesville, FL ) added 16 points, shooting 4-for-5 from three and providing an outside presence allowing
Aleksander Kesic (Belgrade, Serbia) to tally 11 points and grab 12 rebounds for a double-double on the night. Â
Jevonte Hughes (Kalamazoo, MI) chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds in the paint for UC. Â
Wheeling Jesuit (11-8, 7-7 MEC) winners of back-to-back games coming into the contest were led by Kyle Ritz whose game high of 18 points came from an impressive 7-of-8 shooting. Â Pat Moseh added 11 points to round of double-digit performers where nine players scored for the Cardinals. Â
Charleston moves to 15-6, 10-5 in the MEC on the season. They will travel to West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday to take on the Bobcats with tip-off slated for 7:30pm.Â
