CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston blistered the nets Tuesday evening at the Charleston Civic Center, running away from the visiting Shepherd University Rams with a 25-point, 76-51 victory.

UC halted a three-game skid, where they lost to the no. 1 & no. 3 ranked teams in the nation, to improve to 7-7 overall and 4-4 in MEC matchups. The Golden Eagles shot nearly 58% from the floor while suffocating the Rams on the defensive end, limiting Shepherd to just 19 made baskets on 57 attempts for 33% shooting.

Charleston had their way with the Rams in the paint, outscoring them 50-28 over 40 minutes. UC had six players score in double figures led by Aleks Kesic's 13 points. Justin Coleman and Jevonte Hughes each chipped in double-doubles while Tino diTrapano added 11 points and five assists. Charleston never trailed in the lopsided affair, leading by as many as 31 in the second half.

The Golden Eagles hit the road Saturday to play West Virginia Wesleyan with tip set for 4:00 p.m.
