Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -Â The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball team split its matches on the road this weekend, with a record of 1-1.Â
First up for the Lady Golden Eagles were the Fairmont Fighting Falcons. UC cruised out to a 2-0 lead before Fairmont stormed back and took the remaining 3 sets to win in 5 games (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 19-25, 10-15). Shiann White led the Lady Eagles with 15 kills, and Jordan Wittekind added 8 blocks in the loss.Â
On Saturday, the Lady Eagles found themselves in a similar situation. UC again ran out to a 2-0 lead, before Shepherd pushed back by winning the next two sets. Charleston was able to finish off the Rams in the 5th set to win the match (26-24, 25-11, 15-25, 24-26, 15-12). Carly Granger led the Lady Eagles with 19 kills in the match and finishing with a .244 hitting percentage. Chloe Massaro put up 28 set assists, while Kelsey Matusic tallied 13 digs in the victory.Â
UC is back in action October 22nd, facing off in a tri-match with Notre Dame College and Bluefield State College.Â
