CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston women's volleyball team wrapped up a second-place Mountain East Conference with a four-set victory of West Liberty at the CCHS Athletic Complex on Friday evening.
The Golden Eagles started strong and finished strong to pick up their 24
th win of the season and take their MEC record to 12-3, sitting behind only nationally ranked Wheeling Jesuit University whom they will face Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.
Charleston played their best sets in the first and fourth sets, hitting over .300 in each of those games. UC also celebrated Senior Night, honoring their two seniors, Shiann White and Jordan Wittekind, before the match. Both played inspired volleyball as White led the Golden Eagles in kills with 17 while Wittekind paced Charleston with four blocks on the evening.
UC returns to the court tomorrow afternoon to host the Cardinals, first serve slated for 2:00 p.m. at the CCHS Athletic Complex.
