SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The University of Charleston men's basketball team lost their first game of the season to Notre Dame on Saturday evening by a score of 75-70 in Mountain East Conference action.

Keir Anderson scored a season-high 23 points in the contest to lead the Golden Eagles offensively. Elliott Cole finished with 19 points while Justin Coleman recorded his fourth double-double of the season after tallying 15 points and grabbing 11 boards.

The Golden Eagles shot 40.6 percent from the field (26-64) and only 22.6 percent from behind the three-point line (7-31). UC held a slim margin over the Falcons in points in the paint (36-34) while Notre Dame held a 12-8 advantage in points off of the bench.

With the loss, UC is now 6-1 overall (3-1 MEC) while Notre Dame improves to 6-2 overall (2-2 MEC).

The Golden Eagles return to the court on Friday, December 9 when they take on Bluefield State in Salem, W.Va.
