UC made exactly half of their 60 field goal attempts but hit on just five of their 23 attempts from downtown this time around.
Â
UC held a three-point, 42-39, lead at the break but saw Shepherd go on a 25-7 run in the middle of the second half that put the Rams up 17 with 7:20 left in the game. UC trailed by double digits until a late rally put the Golden Eagles within six, 83-89, after a pair of Cameron Dozier free throws with 52 seconds to play. Shepherd made their free throws down the stretch to hold off the surging Eagles on their way to the 11-point win.

Charleston continues their two-game road trip Saturday afternoon with a visit to Fairmont State to take on the nationally ranked Falcons. Â
