The Golden Eagles earned their first win of the 2016 campaign behind the stellar pitching of senior Tyler Shreve and a scrappy offensive effort.  

GAME 1:  UC 3- WSSU 1

UC started the scoring in the top of the first on a two-out infield hit by senior Zach Gunter.  The lead was short-lived as the Rams' Phillip Page singled to right to score Jayson Baytop.  Over the final eight innings the Golden Eagles' strong pitching held the WSSU offense at bay, while the UC offense was able to scratch out single runs in the 3^rd and the 5^th.  Junior Luke Yingling earned his first save of 2016 after recording the last four outs.  Offensively, UC was led by senior Anthony Brunetti and Taylor Itnyre, each recording two hits.  

Game 2: WSSU 12-UC 1

WSSU jumped out to a seven run lead after the 2^nd inning and would not look back as the UC offense would fall silent as the Rams went on to win game two by a score of 12-1.  

The four-game series will conclude on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  Junior Andy Hoyer and Senior Anthony Brunetti are on the mound for games three and four respectively.
