WINSTON-SALEM - Charleston concluded their four-game series with Winston-Salem State University Sunday afternoon taking one of two from the Rams.
Game 1-UC 13-WSSU 8
UC jumped out to a 7-run lead in the top of the 1st and didn't look back as the Golden Eagles would go on to win 13-8.Â

Freshman Jack Brunetti pitched 5 2/3 innings in relief of Junior starter Andy Hoyer.  Offensively, four Golden Eagles drove in 10 of the 13 runs (Anthony Brunetti-3, Steven Davis-3, Jeff Somuk-2, Tyler Ocker-2)

Game 2- WSSU 7-UC 2

Game two proved to be a pitcher's duel between Anthony Brunetti and WSSU's Devon McLemore through 5 1/2 innings until the Rams posted five runs in the bottom of the 6th.Â

Senior Anthony Brunetti led the way offensively going 2-2 with a home run while Justin Mixon would drive in the second run in the 5th. Â Gianfranco Morello also doubled in the 7th.Â

The Golden Eagles move to 2-4 on the season and will begin a 12 game home stand against Alderson Broaddus University on Friday and Saturday.Â
